While in college, I got my New Jersey real estate license and began leasing apartments in Hoboken during summer breaks. This early experience ignited my passion for real estate, leading me to pursue it full-time after graduation and moving to Hoboken. I spent the next six years at Liberty Realty, specializing in apartment rentals and condo sales. My dedication to providing exceptional service resulted in a strong reputation, generating repeat business and referrals.
In 2017, I founded my own brokerage, First Look Realty. Shortly thereafter, I became a Certified Distressed Property Expert (CDPE), developing a deep commitment to assisting property owners in avoiding foreclosure. My empathy with clients expanded to probates, helping clients sell inherited properties. The complexity of probate and foreclosure (often properties are both) is not all sunshine and rainbows; it's hard work and took years of practice, but helping people through tough times is the most rewarding to me. Sure, I can sell luxury homes and condo, and I love doing that to, but the appreciation I get from my clients after relieving them from whats is usually the most stressful time of their life is truly the most satisfying to me.
I am well-versed and experienced in all aspects of real estate, including multifamily investments, new and pre-construction projects, high-end condos and single family homes, probates, pre-foreclosures, tax liens, warehouses, apartment rentals, air bnb, and everything in between. My extensive knowledge, exceptional online marketing skills, and dedication to securing top dollar for my sellers make me a trusted partner in any real estate transaction. Today, my team and I at First Look Realty continue to serve buyers, sellers, renters, and investors throughout New Jersey, providing top-tier service and industry knowledge. We have also been working on an ambitious passion project, learn more below.
NEW JERSEY TAX ASSISTANCE A NJ NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION (NJTA)
is a 501(c)(3) organization founded by Kyle Jackson and Michael Heller with a mission to help homeowners avoid tax lien foreclosure. Our primary focus is assisting families with children, veterans, cancer survivors in maintaining their primary residences.
NJTA was established after Kyle and Mike witnessed firsthand the ruthless and predatory tactics of tax lien investors. Often, the homes at risk of tax lien foreclosure do not have mortgages (mortgage companies typically pay the taxes to protect their money), and the homeowners are on the verge of losing their properties they own free and clear due to unpaid taxes or utilities. So these are not people that bought a house they couldn't afford. It's usually people that have inherited the home from a family member passing away or they are going through significant hardship. In New Jersey, where property taxes are among the highest in the country, once homeowners fall behind, it becomes very difficult to catch up due to 18% compounding interest. These homeowners usually cannot qualify for a mortgage and face limited options during these difficult times.
The funds raised by NJTA are directly given to homeowners to pay their backed property taxes. There is no deadline to pay it back within a certain amount of time and certainly no interest accumulating. The only condition is that if they sell the property they have to pay back the same amount that was given to them so NJTA can use it to help more families. Our organization is currently seeking local AND state funding to support this crucial cause. We urge you to sign the petition below to help us gain the attention and support we need.
First Look Realty has pledged to match 20% of all individual donations. Both Kyle and Mike donate their time to this cause and DO NOT collect any salary or financial benefits from this program. This is truly something we are passionate about and believe it can make a real difference to the community. Also whats so great about this is there are no fakers or moochers because it's through the courts and can't be faked. We can see when they are legitimately losing their homes. It can be for amounts as small as two years taxes plus all the fees and penalties, in some cases that less than $20,000. Yes there are property sharks taking peoples homes for as little as $20,000 and forcing them out onto the streets! It's bad and they need our help.
